Luxury Yoga Retreat in Cornwall, October 2020 | Boconnoc Estate | vendredi, 02. octobre 2020

Escape with me for a two night retreat at Boconnoc, one of Cornwall’s most stunning stately homes. Representing the heights of Cornish luxury, this is a retreat venue like no other. Relax in exquisitely designed rooms, indulge in delicious healthy food and allow your body and mind to unwind with twice daily yoga classes and a guided meditation. There is also be the opportunity to learn about yogic philosophy on Saturday evening. During the retreat you can do as much or as little as you please; rise and shine to the incredible Cornish landscapes at your doorstep, put on your walking boots to explore the nearby coastal paths, or be pampered from head to toe by making the most of the wide range of wellbeing and beauty treatments on offer.
This is the perfect opportunity to slow down and take time out for yourself in beautiful peaceful surroundings. No matter how you feel when you arrive, you’ll leave feeling revitalised.
Tucked down two miles of private drive, as soon as you enter Boconnoc you are transported to another world; a world of tranquillity, peace and breath-taking scenery. Ancient trees inhabit the vast corners of the estate, whilst the gardens burst with extraordinary blooms.
Boconnoc’s story begins thousands of years ago. Since the days of the Domesday Book, people have inhabited this beautiful tract of Cornwall—and the estate itself is alive with centuries of history.
Boconnoc House sits in the heart of the estate. Restored to its former glory following a 12-year restoration project by the Fortescue family, this Georgian country house is surrounded by rolling countryside and immaculate lawns. Capturing the enchantment and beauty of Cornwall, the only sounds you will hear are the birds and the trees swaying gently in the breeze.
The house offers many fabulous reception rooms, each with a distinct style and personality. You will relax in style; the yoga classes will be in the light and airy Garden Room, you can curl up with a book in the cosy library, or snuggle up in the Smoking Room surrounded by an open fire and flickering candles.
The bedrooms blend contemporary design with charming historic elements and there are a range of accommodation options to suit your budget, with a choice of staying in the exquisite main house, or in one of the charming cottages adjacent to the main house.
There will be four yoga sessions over the weekend, including meditation, pranayama and asana.  The morning sessions will awaken the body and mind ready for the day ahead. The evening sessions will be gentle and restorative to allow the body and mind to relax. There will be a guided meditation on Friday evening before bedtime. The retreat is suitable for all experience levels, including for those who are newer to yoga.
On Saturday evening we will gather by the fire with a cup of tea to discuss yogic philosophy. I will introduce you to some key principles derived from ancient yogic texts and we'll discuss how this is connected to the practices that we are exploring throughout the weekend.
Experienced retreat chef Jo from The Holistic Kitchen Academy will be with us preparing a delicious array of healthy feasts which will nourish and delight. All meals will be freshly prepared, vegetarian and low in gluten and refined sugar. There will also be vegan and dairy free options too. The weekend will be the perfect opportunity to nourish and replenish your body, so that you leave feeling restored from the inside out. Any special diets can be catered for; please advise me of any specific requirements when booking.
My favourite local therapists will be coming to the house to offer a wide range of wellbeing and beauty treatments during the weekend including massage, reflexology, facials and reiki. These will be available at an extra cost and you will be able to book these in advance of the weekend.
