Jewelry Tool Geeks Unite !! | El Dorado - A Honolulu Casting Lab | samedi, 16. novembre 2019
No matter how organized we are, we can all work smarter. Sometimes all it takes is a new tool or a shift in perspective. Join us for an intensive workshop of tools and tricks with local jewelry designer Emiko Miyazawa of M33Ms Designs. Emiko is one of Hawaii’s rising stars; a GIA Certified Gemologist as well as a highly skilled jewelry designer whose bold and beautifully balanced work is available in galleries worldwide. A recent winner of the Hawaii Craftsman merit award in metal arts.
In this three hour session Emiko will be sharing and demonstrating some of her favorite tools, techniques and tool hacks. This is a rare opportunity to learn some invaluable and time-saving tools of the jewelry trade —- opening the door to more effective design and fabrication, resulting in improvements in workflow and a savings in both time and materials. Like we said — working smarter!
Techniques will include repurposing past-their-prime hand-tools and tool sharing, making your own emery boards and a surefire process for making dozens of jump rings in minutes.
We want this to work for participants, so once you sign up we will send you a short survey to allow you to select from a list of subjects and also write in others that you are interested in learning about. Let us know your particular needs and challenges and we’ll do our best to incorporate them.
This workshop is suitable for beginner to intermediate jewelers, but we welcome all skill levels.
